Please follow all the guidelines and instructions below when editing and creating pages in the Viper Wiki.

If you want to test an edit or some voodoo piece of code, try it out on the Test page before adding it to a main page.

[edit] IC information

Please do not post any information which some people might not wish considered "general IC knowledge".

This is a bad thing to post:

Godwin is secretly a half-human, half-fae daemonologist, specialising in necromantic taints. He was rejected by the Dark Incantors for failing the "raise and kill a puppy" test. He is currently plotting Scavenger's disgrace and final assassination.

This, however, is a good thing to post:

Godwin is a miner from the town of Stoneburgh. He is an incantor, worshipping his ancestor Grubb Grubbson. He worked as an ambassador under Dr Karter and Rosamund, although has not been doing much of this lately. He is happiest underground.

Ensure all event Reports and suchlike do not contain information which might be damning to someone elses character.

Where possible IC information (such as reports, stories, legends, etc) should be attributed to a PC. Include the IC name of authors in these articles.

[edit] Pictures

Please feel free to upload pictures and link / include them in pages. If you have loads of images - an entire event's worth - that you'd like hosted here, contact the webmonkey.

Nothing indecent please (faction fashion sense notwithstanding).

[edit] Event Pages

Pages for upcoming events should be locked for editing by admin users only. No offence - it's just that we need the information to be exactly right on these pages.

Pages for past events will be unlocked, so you can link / add reports etc.

[edit] Tit-for-tat editing & Disputes

Try not to get into any tit-for-tat editing, or "conversations" on the main pages. Please use the "discussion" pages for arguments over page content. Inform the webmonkey of any debates which you can't solve yourself.

Please be adult about it. (Well, fairly adult.)

In all disputes, the webmonkey's decision will be absolute. It will not be final 'cause he will still listen to rational discussion.

[edit] Vandalism

Vandalism isn't big or clever. Please roll back any vandalism if you are able, and report it to the webmonkey.
