From Vipers

Policy
It is an unfortunate fact, but on some occasions we have to restrict the number of people playing our events. This may be due to site limitations or because we believe it necessary in order for us to run events to the high standard to which you have become used to.
Over the past few years the Viper sanctioned events have become increasingly popular and we are incredibly flattered that our events have booked out (and so quickly), but it has meant that we have had to turn people away, including some of our friends and faction members.
After many hours (weeks!) of discussion, we have come up with a booking policy, intended to be a fair way of allocating player places and ensure that full time Viper players get a fair chance to play their faction events.
The "Core" rules
- Priority will be given to members of the Viper Faction playing Primary Characters - allocated on a first come first served basis.
- Places for these players will be available exclusively until a fixed date and any remaining places will be available to be booked by members of other factions / players who do not have a Viper Primary character after this date.
- Non Vipers / primaries are welcome to send in their booking forms & payment prior to this date to qualify for the early booking discount. Their bookings & payments will not be processed until a place is confirmed.
- If you are experiencing problems with arranging for payment immediately, but still want to play please send in a completed booking form (minus payment) and contact us to make arrangements. We will require full payment from you prior to the start of the event.
- In some circumstances we are able to reserve places, but spaces held on this promise must be backed up by a booking form within 1 week of reserving the place otherwise your name comes off the list and your place will be allocated to another player.
The List
- We will keep a list of all booking forms received and places will be allocated according to when the forms are received
- We will endeavour to keep the list updated on the viper faction website.
- If any bookings are received after the spaces are filled, these will be put onto a "reserve" list and will be allocated places as/if they become free. Any players who are on the reserve list and who come to monster the event will be offered priority booking for the next event.
Viper Primary Characters
We consider your primary character to be the character that you play at the main Lorien Trust events during the year (Heartland Games, Moots 1 & 2 and The Gathering). For your character to count as a Viper primary, we ask that you have attended these events as a member of the Viper Faction. (It goes without saying that if you are a new player to the Viper Faction or the Lorien Trust game world then exceptions will be made to this rule and we hope that you will be able to join us at the future main LT events.)
Event Advertising
We have received comments regarding the availability of event information and that if you do not have access to the internet you may not hear about an event before it is too late to book.
In order to address this, where we can flyers will be handed out at events and if you have attended a previous Viper faction event (in the past 2 years) a flyer will be posted out to you (providing you have kept us up to date with your current address!). We will endeavour to post the flyers out prior to the internet advertising going "on line".
We would also ask that Group Leaders keep us up to date with a contact address (postal or email) for their group. We will send details of forthcoming events and any other factional news to this address. We consider it part of the Group Leaders responsibility to ensure that all members of their group are aware of the faction events taking place.
Any comments on this booking policy should be sent to viperplot@postmaster.co.uk.
